organized during 1st week of July each year and also as and when there is possibility to do the
same.
Various goods
distribution programme held for the needy, poor and adolescent girls for e.g. Distribution of
sanitary pads to girls, school bags to children, food to poor and old age homes.
Various training
programs are held for women for making them capable like beautician training program, tailoring
program, cake baking, mushroom training, art and craft, etc.
Various
awareness program for females for birth control, sex education for young girls and boys, etc
During Covid
times, Icchedana has contributed majorly towards society by providing rations to the weaker section
of the society, sanitizing the areas in and around Jalpaiguri, working as covid warriors, collecting
samples and doing swab tests, painting rounds for safe distance in the major areas of the district.
In span of 6
years 19 times blood donation camp has been organized and more than 700 units (bottle) blood donated
to blood bank.
Distribution of
free Oxygen Cylinder service during COVID-19 situation.
Distribution of
wheel chair, tri-cycle, artificial limbs also given to needy people through NGOs.
In span of 6
years, educational training to more than 700 girls and boys given at Indo-Bhutan border, 61 times
free eye camp undertaken, 1326 people given spectacles free of cost and 731 people’s cataract
operation done free of cost.
Numerous sports
events held for young boys and girls to encourage them towards fitness, sportsmanship and sponsored
capable boys and girls for district and state level championships.
Worked for the
benefit of thousands of women by grooming them, providing numerous training, undertaking welfare
camps on sanitization, menstrual hygiene, etc
Various health
camps, dental camps and adult education camp held at various villages of Jalpaiguri.
Also various
camps and programs held at India-Bhutan Border in collaboration with Sashastra Seema Bal.
Various rescue
work and free food distribution initiative has been done during flood in Jalpaiguri district and in
and around border areas whenever such a situation has arisen.
